El Proyecto Child Development Centers are each licensed to serve 255 preschool children aged 2 through 5 years. The Child Development Program is currently funded by the California Department of Education and the California Department of Social Services. El Proyecto Child Development’s philosophy is to nurture and inspire children’s individual growth and creativity. Each child’s level of development, age, uniqueness, culture, and language are considered in everyday planning and interactions. Learning is further supported through:

  • Full-day and Part-day sessions
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) teaching staff
  • Staff credentialed by the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
  • Nutritious meals

Substances Abuse

El Proyecto’s Behavioral Health Program provides counseling and referrals to men and women with substance abuse and mental health problems, including specialized services for women who are pregnant, postpartum or parenting. The Program is staffed by bilingual and drug-certified counselors. It assists men and women in areas including domestic violence/sexual abuse, self-esteem, peer support, life skills, health education, drug education, 12 step/relapse, and parenting who receive treatment rather than incarceration.
